The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced Site Engineer to join our New South Wales team.

You will gain key exposure to projects in the civil construction, remediation, waste management and mining industries working with major clients in these fields.

Due to the size of the company and our current growth, excellent development opportunities will be available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be technically minded and have a natural aptitude for problem-solving and systematic thinking.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years previous experience in a similar role and who’s not afraid to get hands-on.

Previous work in Water Treatment will be highly valued.

Based out of our Sydney office, you will be responsible for the management of multiple projects concurrently, with a site presence a requirement of the role. You will also be required to offer support for tendering and construction on new and existing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate and maintain water and waste treatment systems
  • Assist in the construction and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Establish sites, set-out surveys, and continual assessment of works
  • Site management across multiple projects and sites concurrently
  • Oversee and manage subcontractors
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals
  • Manage and report on project financials
  • Ensure site quality, safety and environmental controls are implemented at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment logs, i.e. Plant & Equipment Register
  • General operative work as required

About you

 

  • Experience and commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented.
  • Tertiary qualification or relevant industry experience in environmental, civil or mechanical engineering
  • A minimum of five years of industry experience, with a minimum of two in a similar role.

Specific Roles

Oversee all facets of projects from concept design to delivery, including:

  • Providing leadership on safety to all project stakeholders
  • Managing the successful delivery of projects, including multiple projects concurrently
  • Managing the generation of project deliverables.
  • Managing project financials through budgeting, reporting and review.
  • Managing the review, execution and delivery of project contracts.
  • Managing and/or assisting with tenders, quotations and proposals.
  • Conducting project risk analysis and outline risk mitigation measures.
  • Engaging & Managing subcontractors
  • Managing and supervising junior engineers and operational staff
  • Managing and implementing company quality, safety and environmental management system.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Account Manager based out of Perth. The key function of this role is to provide for technical development, client account management and servicing of clients in WA, SA and the NT.

About you

 

  • Experience and commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Reasonable travel as requested to domestic clients
  • Proven experience in in engineering science and related sector, eg resources sector, mineral processing, water and waste water management
  • University degree (or equivalent experience) – preferably in Chemistry, Metallurgy or Chemical/Mining Engineering.

Specific Roles

  • Ensure compliance with the SciDev and client-specific environmental health & safety requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Client account management, including managing sales, order deliveries and technical project management in order to meet client needs
  • Provide timely forecasting of sales to allow for optimal supply chain and demand planning.
  • Identify new client opportunities to grow business
  • Prepare monthly reporting on activities and recommendations and provide input into other reporting as required
  • Assist with any other account or sales needs, such as presentations, quotes and tenders
  • Addressing other reasonable requests from clients as required
  • Provide project leadership where required to other team members
  • Support other activities that are broadly consistent with the overall growth and performance of SciDev.

SciDev is seeking a detail-oriented, inquisitive, analytical, “don’t take things at face value” type of Metallurgist to be part of our technical support team.

  • University degree in Metallurgy, Science, or Engineering is desirable but not essential.
  • Based in the Perth region or willing to relocate.

What you will do

Manage a portfolio of existing clients while assisting the Account Managers, including:

  • Support the existing sales and project development opportunities in WA with regular field activities supporting lab studies and plant trials.
  • Assisting the Account Manager responsible for the existing client base by supporting and executing a technical service regime
  • Provide active market feedback on competitors and general industry movements. This will include products, pricing, and customer movements.
  • Assist with any other account or sales needs, such as presentations, quotes and tenders.
  • Interact with clients, consultants, engineering, procurement and construction companies (EPCs), academic institutions, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other relevant parties to optimise SciDev sales.

Responsibilities

Establish sites, set out surveys and continual assessment of works across multiple sites concurrently.
Management of subcontractors.
Manage and report on project financials.
Manage site quality, safety and environmental documentation.
Ensuring site quality, safety and environmental controls are implemented at all times, with all work compliant with SciDev’s QHSE management systems.
Operation and maintenance of water and waste treatment systems.
Assist in maintaining equipment logs, i.e. Plant & Equipment Register.
Assist in the construction and maintenance of SciDev’s plant and equipment.
Assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals.
