The statistics surrounding food insecurity in Houston are confronting and something the SciDev team wanted to help address. In Houston and Harris County specifically, food insecurity is at 39%, significantly higher than the national average.
This week we rolled up our sleeves at the Houston Food Bank, supporting their mission to ensuring everyone has access to Food for Better Lives. By working together, we put out core value Achieve More Together into action outside the office — collaborating, learning, and making a tangible difference in our community.
The team donated 250+ pounds of food and spent 3 hours repacking rice creating 8,533 meals. Small actions can create real impact, and we’re proud to be part of initiatives that bring tangible, positive change to the communities where we live and operate.
