Katerina‘s career path is a fascinating blend of academic exploration and practical application. Her early involvement in university research projects, focused on biochemistry, physical chemistry, and microbiology, laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors. While she briefly explored manufacturing operations, the oilfield’s allure proved irresistible. Since joining a major oilfield service company, Katerina has dedicated her career to applied research and development, working on projects across the globe – from North and South America to Africa, Asia, and Europe. This diverse experience has equipped her with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the energy sector. Now, at SciDev, Katerina leverages her skills and knowledge to develop cutting-edge products for a major operator, contributing to advancements in upstream technology.
A Passion for Sustainability: The Carbon Capture and Storage Project with ExxonMobil
Katerina is particularly proud of her contributions to a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, a critical area of focus for the energy industry. For over a year, she’s been deeply involved in helping a major customer develop innovative technology to improve CO2 injection processes.
